Dental implants can be used for the replacement of single teeth, single missing teeth. They can also be used to anchor dentures and partials and other prostheses so that they actually function like real teeth. The most important thing about implants is that they replace teeth in the most natural way, and they give you the best chance to get back to having the original form and function of your own teeth.
The process of dental implants begins with diagnosis. So the evaluation of the amount of bone in order to place dental implants is critical. Now what's interesting is, even if you do have insufficient bone, we can actually grow your own bone so that we can then place the implants to replace your missing teeth. The placing of dental implants can be as easy as one implant, which can take less than an hour. Too, if we're placing multiple implants, it can take, obviously, longer than that. We also, in the upper arch, we also sometimes need to perform sinus grafts in order to grow additional bone to place implants. And, of course, all these things need to be discussed and determined ahead of time by doing adequate diagnosis and a CT scan.
The recovery time in placing dental implants can be, in many cases, much easier than the extraction of a tooth. The rewarding thing about placing implants is the fact that people can go back to their normal form and function as if they had their natural teeth again.
