Dentures Enter a New Era with Technology Get a More Accurate Fit and Better Stability
Missing teeth are an obvious burden. However, dentures in the past have often introduced a new set of problems for their wearers. Those days are gone. By using the latest in digital dental technology, the Dr. Greg S. Phillips & Associates in Lutcher, Louisiana, has overcome many limitations of the past.
Our dentist, Dr. Greg Phillips, uses digital x-rays and a 3-D cone-beam CT scanner to accurately capture the structures in your mouth so that he can create dentures that fit like a glove and bring a smile back to your face.
We Design Dentures That Stay in Place
More Options Than Ever for Dentures
Traditional Full Dentures
Traditional full dentures, the type most people are familiar with, are removable dentures that simply rest on the gums. They are a simple and relatively fast option to replace a full arch of teeth. They are typically held in place by suction and adhesives. To achieve an optimum fit, Dr. Phillips uses digital x-rays and a 3-D cone-beam scanner to create a digital impression of your mouth. This precision mapping of your mouth allows us to design a denture with the accurate fit needed for a confident smile.
Implant-Supported Dentures
Longing to bite into a steak or muffuletta? Implant-supported dentures will let you. These dentures are held in place by implants, or small posts, inserted into the jaw where they fuse with the bone. These dentures will never shift or fall out when eating or speaking and are the closest thing to having your natural teeth back. More importantly, dental implants help stop the bone in your jaw from deteriorating, introducing more dental problems and making you look older than you are. In contrast, traditional dentures can accelerate bone loss in the jaw.
Partial Dentures
Some people are missing a tooth here and there and sometimes a row of teeth somewhere else. If that describes your situation, then the dentist may recommend a partial denture designed to fill the gaps in your bite. Like full dentures, there are multiple ways to secure them in place. The traditional method is to secure them with metal clips that attach the partial to a nearby tooth or teeth. Partial dentures can also be secured with dental implants. In either case, Dr. Phillips will ensure each tooth and the gums blend discreetly in your mouth.
